In January of 2016 The Jack Van Somer Band came onto the scene at a running stride when they played on the ColdSnap stage and then straight into opening up for George Canyon as a trio. Jack then played an acoustic opening set for Stephen Fearing of 'Blackie and the Rodeo Kings' as a solo for an intimate concert at ArtSpace, and performed at the first "Northern Exposure" Conference in Wells, BC.

Jack released a solo music video for his song "Come out to Play" in May of 2016.

Jack, Brad, and Curt have spent many years gigging together and separately, and have finally come all together to create something original, and new to the Prince George scene. Josh Hanson joined them on drums for the first time as a fill in for Prince George's 'Down town Summer Fest', and the connection was instant, and permanent. They have a Canadian sound, and they have been inspired by the sound of John Mayer, the song writing of Chris Stapleton, and strait beats of Phil Rudd.
