SOMEBODY LOVES YOU, MR. HATCH, by Eileen Spinelli and Illustrated by Paul Yalowitz, Adapted by Chris McGregor weaves, humour, pathos and song through three puppeteers and Mr. Hatch, himself.
Mr Hatch lives a colourless, ordered life. He goes to work at the shoelace factory, eats his lunch alone, reads the paper and then goes to bed… early. Until, one Valentine’s Day he receives the biggest surprise of his life, a candy-filled heart with a note that whispers “somebody loves you”. Mr. Hatch’s world is turned upside down and he begins to make friends and enjoy all the fun parts of life that he once ignored. This delightful story, about the power of kindness and how it can transform our lives, invites the audience to recognize how one moment of kindness makes another’s life better. It is a beautiful story that makes the audience laugh, cry and cheer.

*Winner of two 2017 Jessie Richardson Awards including Outstanding Design and Outstanding Artistic Creation for Direction
